“Lost the only key to my Hilux on a Friday afternoon. New key cut and programmed in my driveway by Saturday morning — and it cost half what the dealer quoted. Will absolutely call again.”

Suzuki Ignis Key System and Coverage

The Ignis uses a conventional transponder key with a separate remote fob for central locking across its NZ model range — there is no proximity smart key or push-button start fitted. Programming is carried out through the vehicle's diagnostic port, and replacement cost sits toward the more affordable end of our price list as a result.

All-keys-lost recovery reads the immobiliser through the OBD port, generates a new key, and deletes the lost key from the system. This is done on site with no towing required in the great majority of cases.

Common Suzuki Ignis Key Problems in Hamilton

Only one key from purchase: The Ignis is a popular compact first car, and single-key ownership is common. We cut and program a spare on site before the original key becomes a problem.

Remote battery or de-sync: A flat coin-cell battery is the usual cause of remote failure; occasionally a flat 12V battery causes the remote to de-sync from the body control module. Both are fixed on site.

All keys lost: We generate a new key directly from the vehicle via OBD — no original required.

Frequently asked

Suzuki key questions

How much does a Suzuki Ignis key replacement cost in Hamilton?

A transponder key with remote is typically $150–$230, with all-keys-lost adding to that figure. Exact price confirmed over the phone before we travel.

Can you do a 2023 or newer Suzuki Ignis?

We cover the Ignis up to 2022 model year. For 2023-onward models, call us with your registration and we'll confirm — these are newer to the market and we're expanding coverage, so ring first rather than assume either way.

Can you cut a spare Ignis key while I still have one that works?

Yes — and recommended, since the Ignis is frequently run on a single key from new.
