Most Muranos on New Zealand roads — both the Z50 (2004–2008) and the far more common Z51 (2008–2015) — run Nissan's Intelligent Key system with push-button start as standard, working through the BCM via Nissan's NATS security architecture. This covers both NZ-new cars and the Japanese-market imports that make up a large share of the Murano population here.
An all-keys-lost Murano requires pulling a PIN from the BCM before a new key can be written. We carry this out on site, generating a new Intelligent Key and deleting the lost key from the system afterwards.
