Nissan Note Locksmith Hamilton
The Nissan Note is one of the most common small cars on Hamilton roads — a practical, efficient hatchback that arrived both as a limited NZ-new model and, more commonly, as a used import including plenty of e-Power hybrids. From older E11 models with a basic transponder key to the current E12 with Nissan's Intelligent Key, the Note runs the full range of Nissan's key systems.
We cut and program Nissan Note keys at your location across Hamilton and the Waikato — fast, affordable, no towing.

“Lost the only key to my Hilux on a Friday afternoon. New key cut and programmed in my driveway by Saturday morning — and it cost half what the dealer quoted. Will absolutely call again.”
Nissan Note Key Systems by Generation
Note E11 (2005–2013): A basic transponder key with a separate remote fob on most imports. Straightforward and affordable to replace — the E11 is a common first car and frequently arrives with only one key.
Note E12 (2012–2020): Base and mid-spec E12 models continued with a transponder remote, while higher grades — including Medalist and Rider trims, and most e-Power hybrids — run Nissan's Intelligent Key with push-button start.
Whichever generation, the Note runs Nissan's NATS system working through the BCM — this covers both the older transponder cars and the current Intelligent Key models. An all-keys-lost job on a Note usually means pulling a PIN from the vehicle before anything can be written, then programming the new key and deleting the lost one from the BCM's memory.
Common Nissan Note Key Problems in Hamilton
Only key lost on an E11: Very common — the E11 changes hands frequently as an affordable first or second car, often with a single key. We pull a PIN via NATS and program a new transponder key on site.
Intelligent Key not detecting (E12): A marginal CR2032 fob battery causes intermittent push-button start failures before it goes fully flat. We carry the correct battery and re-pair on site.
e-Power hybrid key programming: The Note e-Power's key system works the same way as the petrol E12 for programming purposes — we service both without any difference in approach.
Keys locked inside: A regular small-car lockout, usually opened with an air wedge and long-reach tool in well under ten minutes with no damage.
Real Job Example: 2016 Note E12, Claudelands
A Claudelands owner's only Intelligent Key had stopped working overnight with no obvious cause — the push-button start simply wasn't recognising the fob, and she had no spare to fall back on.
We arrived within 30 minutes and worked through the NATS diagnostic sequence via the BCM, pulling the PIN needed to confirm the vehicle's security data before programming a fresh Intelligent Key and deleting the faulty one from the system.
Total time on site: 45 minutes. The car was back in daily use that afternoon instead of sitting idle for a dealer booking.

Frequently asked
Nissan key questions
Can you program a Nissan Note Intelligent Key without the original?
Yes. All-keys-lost Note recovery works through Nissan's NATS system via the BCM — we pull a PIN and generate a new key from there.
How much does a Nissan Note key replacement cost in Hamilton?
E11 transponder: $150–$260. E12 Intelligent Key: $300–$500. All-keys-lost adds $100–$200 on top.
How long does Note key programming take?
Transponder: 25–40 minutes. Intelligent Key: 35–55 minutes. All-keys-lost: 50–70 minutes.
Can you do a 2023 or newer Note?
We cover the Note up to 2022 model year. For 2023-onward models, call us with your registration and we'll confirm — these are newer to the market and we're expanding coverage, so ring first rather than assume either way.
Do you service Note e-Power hybrids the same as petrol models?
Yes — the key programming process is the same regardless of whether it's a petrol or e-Power Note.
