MG4 EV Key System and What We Can Do
The MG4 uses a push-button start proximity key programmed through the OBD port into the vehicle's immobiliser. With a working key still available, we cut and program a spare on site. If every key is lost, we carry out full all-keys-lost recovery — reading the immobiliser, generating a new key registration, and deleting the old key's codes.
Because the MG4 is an EV, we also confirm the new key is correctly recognised by the charging and power management system before we leave, so there are no surprises the next time you plug in.
Common MG4 EV Key Problems in Hamilton
