The CX-30 was launched with a proximity smart key and push-button start standard on most NZ trims (GSX, Limited, Takami), while the entry GLX runs a transponder key with a separate remote. Programming is done through the OBD port in the great majority of cases. Where OBD access will not take a new key — usually on a vehicle with a flat main battery or a damaged immobiliser connection — we can read the immobiliser or ECU directly to recover the data needed.

An all-keys-lost CX-30 is our most urgent call for this model. We generate a new key from the vehicle itself rather than needing an original to copy, then delete the lost key from the immobiliser so it can no longer start the car.

Smart key battery failure is the most frequent CX-30 callout — a marginal CR2032 cell gives intermittent proximity detection before it goes properly flat, so the push-button start works one attempt and not the next. We carry the correct batteries and re-pair the fob on site.
