“Lost the only key to my Hilux on a Friday afternoon. New key cut and programmed in my driveway by Saturday morning — and it cost half what the dealer quoted. Will absolutely call again.”

Verisa Key System

The Verisa (DC generation, 2004–2015) uses a basic transponder key — a chipped blade with no push-button start and, on most variants, a separate remote fob for central locking rather than an integrated unit. It's a straightforward system to work with and one of the more affordable JDM import keys to replace.

All-keys-lost recovery generates a new key directly from the vehicle, and we delete the old key from the immobiliser once the replacement is confirmed working.

Common Verisa Key Problems in Hamilton

The most frequent Verisa callout is an only-key situation — many were imported with a single key and no spare ever cut for the New Zealand owner. We program a replacement from the vehicle's data on site rather than needing to source a specific Japanese-market key blank in advance.

Remote fob battery failure and a worn or sticky ignition barrel are the other common issues, both resolved on site with the correct parts.

Frequently asked

Mazda key questions

Can you program a Verisa key without the original?

Yes. We generate a new key directly from the vehicle for all-keys-lost Verisa jobs.

How much does a Verisa key replacement cost?

Transponder key: $150–$260. All-keys-lost adds $100–$180 on top.

Can you do a 2023 or newer Verisa?

We cover the Verisa up to 2022 model year. For newer imports, call us with your rego and we'll confirm — these are newer to the market and we're expanding coverage, so ring first rather than assume either way.
