Mercedes changed its key security part-way through the 2010s, and that change matters more than the model or the mileage: cars on the earlier FBS3 system — broadly up to 2014 — we handle in full. Mercedes E-Class Key Systems by Generation

E-Class W211 (2002–2009): EIS transponder remote key. The W211 is now a common second-hand premium vehicle in Hamilton. FBS3 — we cover this in full.

E-Class W212 (2009–2016): Earlier W212 builds, through to the FBS4 changeover around 2015, run FBS3 and we cover these in full, including higher-spec variants with KEYLESS-GO. Later-build W212 cars move onto FBS4 — we confirm your exact build by VIN before quoting.

E-Class W213 (2016–present): Every W213 runs FBS4, Mercedes' closed, server-authorised key system. This is dealer-only — no independent locksmith can write a key to it.
