The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is the premium people-mover built on the same W447 platform as the current Vito van, on sale in New Zealand since 2014 — after Mercedes had already begun closing off its key system to independent locksmiths. Why the Current V-Class Sits Outside What We Can Do
The W447-generation V-Class runs FBS4, Mercedes' closed, server-authorised key system. New keys are authorised through Mercedes' own encrypted servers — there is no independent-locksmith route, regardless of the equipment a shop carries. If you drive the older Viano (the V-Class's predecessor, sold through to around 2014), that runs the earlier FBS3 system and we do handle that — see our Vito/Viano coverage.

Can you program a key for my Mercedes V-Class?
If it is the current W447 V-Class (2014 onward), no — it runs FBS4, which is dealer-only. If you have the older Viano people-mover, call us, as that runs the earlier system we can service.
What can you still help with on a V-Class?
Non-immobiliser issues — a damaged key shell, a mechanical lock fault, or a lockout that does not require writing a new key to the vehicle. Call and describe the problem.
